Which diameter should I choose?
The inner diameter, shown on each product page, determines where the hoop is worn. Measure the distance between your piercing and the edge of your ear, then add 1 mm for a snug fit or 2 mm for a looser fit.
| Inner diameter | Worn on |
|---|---|
| 5 to 6 mm | Lobe (3rd hole), anti-helix, tragus |
| 6 to 8 mm | Helix, rook, tragus, anti-tragus |
| 7 to 8 mm | Lobe (2nd hole) |
| 8 mm and over | Lobe (1st hole) |
| 8 to 10 mm | Daith |
| 10 to 12 mm | Conch |

Your questions
Where is the conch piercing located?
The conch is located in the concha, the hollow, central part of the ear. There is the inner conch, in the center, and the outer conch, closer to the edge: it is the latter that holds a hoop that goes around the edge of the ear.
What diameter for a conch hoop?
To go around the edge, the hoop must be large enough: allow for an inner diameter of 10 to 12 mm. Hammered, thick, or zircon-set designs stand out particularly well in this location.
